Open Enrollment Applications
Feb. 1 through 28, 2013
Open Enrollment is available only to students in secondary schools. Applications will be accepted at the Vacaville Unified School District’s Educational Services Center, 401 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville during the month of February. Applications must be filed in person and received no later than February 28, 2013 at 5.p.m.
Interdistrict Agreement (between school districts)
March 1, 2013
New and renewal Interdistrict students to VUSD should complete a new application for 2013-2014 starting in their home district and submit to Rae Ann Quinata in the Educational Services Department. All new applications to VUSD will be held and referred to the requested school for consideration in enrollment projections. No placements will be made until after April 1, 2013.
Title I School Choice/California Romero Bill School Choice window
March 1 through April 12, 2013
Letters will be mailed to qualifying families in March, 2013.
Title I provisions allow all students attending Fairmont, Hemlock, Markham and Padan schools the option to transfer to another public school, including a public charter school, that is within the District and that is not in program improvement or is not persistently dangerous.
Additionally, the Romero Bill School Choice also allows students from Hemlock and Markham, to transfer to another higher performing school inside or outside of the District.
Intradistrict Agreement (within school district)
April 15, 2013
Intradistrict Agreement procedures for school year 2013-14 will be available after students have been placed for Title School Choice and California Romero Bill School Choice. Students currently attending a school on an Intradistrict Agreement will have priority over new students. All new students, including incoming Kindergarten students, for school year 2013-2014 need to enroll at their school of residence before requesting an Intradistrict Agreement.
