Fun with Science at final event
GATE students got one last chance for some hands-on fun at the final enrichment event titled "Ready, Set, Go" on April 20, 2013. Under the direction of the crew from STAR Education, kids dabbled with food science, photography, and Zome tools.

In the Zome session, STAR set two challenges for the kids: find out how many stems would fit into a ball, and how tall of a structure could each team build. The latter gave groups a chance for creativity and communication.

The food science class let kids find out what happens to whipped cream when it hits a block of dry ice.
The answer? Whipped cream pancakes.
